How it Works
Once you make a $50 payment, you must meet the $500 fundraising minimum to participate on the day of the ride. To help you meet the $500 minimum, you will be provided with a personal web address link (URL) to send to your friends and loved ones so they can visit and make online credit card contributions. Donations via check are also accepted and all donations will be acknowledged with an e-mail or postal mail confirmation [see below]. Once you reach the $500 mark, you will receive an e-mail within one week confirming your eligibility to ride on October 8th.

Check Your Status
Upon registering you will be given a 3-4 digit rider donation ID number and an online rider account. Your rider account contains all of your contact information, personal URL, and donation log. At any time, between now and the fundraising ride, you can change your personal information and view your donations to date, complete with donor information. You can log into your fundraising center to find out more information about your donations. To log in, go to http://www.active.com/donations/campaign_hq.cfm. Once logged in, go to the “View Reports” tab at the top of the header; you will then see a General Donation Report. This report provides an overall summary of all contributions made to your fundraising page.
Donation Summary: a real time summary of your daily progress
Donation Details: list all of the donations made to your page, including the donor’s name, donation amount and date.
You can also download this information by clicking on “Download Data.” Furthermore, you can send e-mails to your contributors by placing check marks next to their names and clicking “E-mail selected contributors.” You can then create a message to send to your donors to thank them for their contributions.
There are two ways to donate to the Tour of Hope:
1. Online via a credit card
Your personal URL is your unique donation page. To make it easy for donors to make donations in your name, you can send your personal URL as a link in an e-mail or copy it to your own Web site. Donors can then click on the link and be directed to the proper donation page. Alternatively, your donors can go to the main donation page and use the drop down box to find your name.
2. Check donations via mail
Each mailed check must include the rider’s FULL name and donation ID number in the memo field of the check. Checks should be made out to the ‘Tour of Hope’ and should then be sent to:
Lance Armstrong Foundation
PO Box 131637
Houston, Texas 77219-1637
Please allow 3 weeks from the date the check is received for processing. All donations are tax deductible. All online donors will receive an e-mail receipt for the tax-deductible contribution to the Tour of Hope; all check donors will receive a postal mail confirmation receipt from the Lance Armstrong Foundation.
Suggested Fundraising Letter
The best way to notify your friends and family is to send them a personal e-mail message that explains why this ride and cause is important to you. Include in your message your personal URL so they can go right to your page. Below is a note you can customize and use.
Dear Friends,
