- Vann, October 11, 2004

Dear Tour of Hope Team-Riding in the Tour of Hope D.C. event was truly an honor. I rode in honor of two people, in memory of three. Thanks for showing the world the best of America!

Four months ago, I was diagnosed with brain cancer. I’ve had surgery, radiation and chemotherapy and feel hopeful and optimistic. If you have cancer, please stay the same way. Read as much as you can about your type of cancer as well as the treatment possibilities. Know that I will keep you in my prayers every day. Love,
- Susan, October 11, 2004

CONGRATULATIONS to all of you! My respect and admiration is beyond words!!!

Paul McCartney’s song "Let it Be" says it best....... THERE WILL BE AN ANSWER!!!!! We will find a cure. I’m sure there were angels on your shoulders during this ride, one of which I’m sure was my mother who passed away 6 years ago. God bless the Tour of Hope Team for raising awareness of clinical trails.
- Jan, October 9, 2004

You made it! Thank you for using your strength to help us all.
- Diondai, October 9, 2004

Congrats to Bernie Sher and the Team. You are awesome!!! You give all us here in "the hurricane state" a message of Hope!!

- Anonymous, October 8, 2004

God bless all of you! Now maybe with your efforts people like my 55 year old sister in law, and my best friend, who died from breast cancer within a week of each other, will have a better chance for a longer life. Keep on ridin’!
- Anonymous, October 8, 2004

You guys (and girls) are awesome!! You inspire people all over the country, and you have inspired me to do my part and someday soon I hope to be involved in cancer research.
- Anonymous, October 8, 2004

I took part in a clinical trail for breast cancer last year. Thanks to that, I am a survivor! What you are doing for all of us, for the future, is inspirational and remarkable. Thank you for bringing this issue to the forefront! Your courage and strength is a beacon of hope to all!
- Anonymous, October 8, 2004

When you are in the thick of cancer HOPE is all you have; that’s what keeps me going. My husband Jeff has 2 forms of aggressive cancer, and he is only 28. We are so grateful for all of you who are furthering the research on cancer. Though it feels like baby steps, your work and contributions and dedication are speeding up the progress. Thank you and God Bless.
- Shawn, October 8, 2004

This is Meghan and I have battled thyroid cancer. To see people fighting for a cure is just awesome!!
- Meghan, October 8, 2004

Believe and it will happen. Let’s HOPE it is soon. God Bless.
- Anonymous, October 8, 2004

Your courage and inspiration have given me the strength. I need to be able to talk about my cancer experience. Last night I was overwhelmed by your kindness and generosity. Knowledge gives us power. I am going to take my power and do all I can to help anyone that needs it. I am finding that the random acts of kindness are the best for me. I will continue to pray for all of you. All God’s Blessings,
- Linda, October 8, 2004

Thank you to everyone. In July of 97’ my 5 month old son was diagnosed with stage IV neuroblastoma. I read many articles about Lance Armstrong during this time. He has always been truly inspirational, as is my 71/2 year old survivor. My son will watch you bike through our town tomorrow morning. Thank you for bringing us closer to a cure.
- Jeannine, October 8, 2004

My sincerest wishes and prayers are for each and every one of you. Take great pride in the Tour of Hope event. You all are true heroes to all of us! God bless you and thank you!
- Anonymous, October 7, 2004

Wow! You’re on the last 500 miles! You all may be tired by now, but I know you’ll keep pushing to meet your goals. I am cheering and praying for all of you.
- BNG, October 7, 2004

Wow, Just a tad over 500 miles to go. Your efforts are paying off in my little world. People know I’m a cyclist and have a couple family members with cancer. They ask me about the Livestrong wristband I wear. I give them one and send them to the Tour of Hope web site. You have generated a lot of excitement for the cause. Keepstrong and Ridestrong!
- Brian, October 7, 2004

You’re almost there just keep pushing. You are an inspiration to my husband and I. We lost my husband’s father 3 years ago and want to send a message of encouragement and hope to all of the riders.
- Amy, October 7, 2004

It is brave people like you that ease the pain of losing a mother. I am very proud of you guys and gals. Keep the faith and remember that we thank every one of you.
- Barbie, October 7, 2004

Thank you for what you are doing. The mother of a friend of mine is battling her third round of cancer in Washington, D.C. What you are doing means a lot to me and I know it means even more to her. I hope that she can make it out to see you all finish your ride!
- Anonymous, October 7, 2004

Keep up the great work! What you are doing means so much to so many people. I was at the final stop in D.C. last year, but am unable to attend this year. We’re cheering for you in Ohio though. Good Luck!
- Anonymous, October 7, 2004

Just wanted to say thank you to all the riders out there. My step mom has been battling cancer for two years now and is nearing the end. I feel helpless, but I’m glad you all are out there to make me proud! Thank you again, I love you and God bless you all!

- Abra, October 6, 2004

We are losing our loved ones everyday to this disease. There is an answer out there and all it takes is enough brave individuals to let their voice be heard. My heart is with you all.
- Anonymous, October 6, 2004

Dear Team,
Our whole family is so inspired by each one of you! We have read your profiles and journals and keep you in our prayers each day. God’s blessings to you for a safe journey to Washington DC. Thank you for giving us all hope and living strong!!! You rock!
- Anonymous, October 6, 2004

Hey Team,
We have been keeping track of all of you and you are all doing a great job! We hope you like our cards that spelled out "livestrong" on out field at Pioneer Jr. High, in Upland, Calif. There were over 500 students to do that; they all had a great time doing that for all of you! Thanks for the courage and all the pedal power you are doing. Stay safe!
- Anonymous, October 6, 2004

I think this is a great thing for the cancer research. God bless you all and good luck on the rest of your Tour of Hope.
- Mary, October 5, 2004

I was diagnosed with cancerous colon polyps at the age of 33. It was a huge shock and to this day I still am in denial. I had surgery to remove the polyps and have yearly checkups to make sure that they have not returned. I am inspired by the courage it takes to come back from much more serious cancers than mine. I wear my "LIVESTRONG" bracelet with pride and love to explain to people that do not know what it stands for. Thank you for all that you do.
- Anonymous, October 5, 2004

I was in Denver yesterday for your appearance. I’ve been undergoing treatment for brain cancer at the cancer center there and was inspired to fight harder! Thanks for all you’re doing. Ride on!
- Ted, October 5, 2004

Good Luck and Thank you! In the past two years I lost my father to cancer; my best friend is fighting breast cancer; my aunt is fighting mantle cell lymphoma; my uncle survived colon cancer; another uncle is fighting leukemia and another uncle is fighting liver cancer. It is very important to fight and to find a cure.
- Anonymous, October 5, 2004

Good evening, everyone!
I wish I could bottle your spirit of teamwork and pass it around here at work. I love reading the daily updates on your progress. One thing comes through very clear and that is the ’one for all and all for one’ support you show each other. Congrats on reaching Denver. My continued best wishes as you head in to the Midwest. Hopefully the weather will be a bit more stable than going from desert to mountains. God be with you!
- Brian, October 5, 2004

Ride on for research and thanks for riding through the University of Colorado Cancer Center. Peace and God bless, ride safely!
- Carol, October 5, 2004

GOOD LUCK WITH YOUR RIDER AND WE ARE VERY PROUD TO KNOW YOU ALL!

This team is just wonderful. THANK YOU all for doing this! You are angels. Take good care of our Miss Adelman! We need her back to teach our 1st graders P.E.! They love her. Best of luck to you all!
- Anonymous, October 4, 2004

My mom was diagnosed with breast cancer in Oct 2001, I was diagnosed with a malignant melanoma in November 2001. My mom lost her battle in June 2003 at only 54 years of age. I thank you all for what you are doing. You all are an inspiration!! Thank you! God speed!
- Anonymous, October 4, 2004

Hi riders of hope,
We are third graders in Mrs. Hall’s class in Brownsburg, Indiana. She gave us each a LiveStrong wristband and we have been collecting money for the Tour of Hope. So far, we have collected $68.79 by doing extra chores and selling items we didn’t want any more. We have a big Tour of Hope bulletin board where we are tracking your progress. We are very proud of you, and we are with you all of the way. Be safe and know that we are cheering you on. Good luck!
- Mrs. Hall’s third grade class, October 4, 2004

GOD BLESS, AND GODS SPEED.
- Michael, October 4, 2004

My message of hope is this: may a cure for all cancers be found within my lifetime. I am a metastasic breast cancer survivor, so I understand the need for research. I know the meaning of hope. I thank all the riders for participating in this year’s Tour of Hope along with Lance Armstrong. All of you are my heroes. I thank you for caring enough to push your bodies to the ultimate... for wanting to fulfill a promise made to a loved one or friend. Thanks for making such a huge difference. We’ve lost too many good people to various cancers. The Tour of Hope is spreading the word that someday soon, cancer will be a word used only in the past tense. No one will have to hear the words "You have cancer." God bless you all!
- Anonymous, October 4, 2004

Earlier this year, my 40-year-old husband was diagnosed with Non-Hodgkin’s Lymphoma. Thanks to you, and others like you, he is currently free of cancer and he’ll be riding in the DC Ride with you on Saturday...and our 4 kids will be cheering you all on from the sidelines!
- Anonymous, October 4, 2004

Great going team!!! See you in DC!
- Peloton, October 4, 2004

I hope the Tour is an AWESOME experience for you and that you and your families will continue to be blessed!
- Anonymous, October 4, 2004

Fellow Riders, Fellow Scientists, Fellow Loved Ones of Cancer Victims:
Today, you are climbing across the Continental Divide through the beautiful state of Colorado and you are nearly half-way there. You must feel great! Of course, that s easy for me to say as I sit in my office and bang-out this email. I am an Immunologist and my laboratory studies cancer vaccines. On Saturday, I will join you (#525 for the DC ride) as you ride past our home in North Potomac, Maryland, and take a short jaunt into DC. The weather looks great for the celebration, and you all really deserve it. Each mile you pedal is helping the battle against this horrible disease. Raising awareness as well as money is critical for the 30+ year-long War on Cancer. Last November, our Mom passed away after a two year battle with lung cancer. Last month, one of our son’s summer camp friends was diagnosed with leukemia. Everyone is touched by this disease. The type of commitment that you are making helps in ways that are virtually intangible, except that it motivates others to help out, too. On behalf of my sponsors, friends, and family, keep up the great work and thank you for your time, effort, and love for this cause. Gratefully,
- Andy, October 4, 2004

Thank you Lance and Tour of Hope Team for bringing your message through the cold Colorado Mountains. We all stand to benefit from your courage and perseverance. Be well!
- Julie, October 4, 2004

After seeing your genuine care for each other in Durango, including your group hug after a cold ride, I was overwhelmed with emotion. My days as a lymphoma patient perhaps added some poignancy. Abundant blessings to all of you and all of those you represent. Let the love flow.
- Greg, October 4, 2004

Best wishes from China! Because of cancer, my grandfather went to heaven in June. I miss him everyday.
- Anonymous, October 4, 2004

Hi Guys and Gals,
I think about you, I think about my Dad. Cancer is new to my family within the last year. I thank you for your effort and inspiration in bringing attention to this issue. I am a cyclist and hope to be a cancer survivor’s son. Thank you and good night. I’ll be checking in your progress tomorrow.
- Brian, Irvine CA, October 4, 2004

As a mom of a child that has survived brain cancer, I want to thank you all for riding to help raise money and awareness for clinical trials. My hope is that we find a cure so other mothers do not have to watch their child go through this terrible disease. I thank you again and again! Good luck and God bless you all!
- Jodi and Family, Carmel, Indiana, October 4, 2004

Thank you for all you are doing for this important cause.
- Anonymous, October 4, 2004

It’s your faith and belief in yourselves, each other, and in what you are doing that brings Hope to the Cancer community. May God Bless you all! I’ll see you on Saturday for the DC ride!
- Dennis, October 4, 2004

Thank you for all you are doing to help find a cure. I have a close friend, who is a Hospice nurse and cares for those who are dying. She had breast cancer 9 years ago and it has now returned in her lung. She is working full time and getting chemotherapy. You are her inspiration and we are all wearing your bracelets in her honor. She is a very special person and touches everyone’s heart. Thanks again.
- Gaye, October 4, 2004

You are all AMAZING people with hearts of gold and legs of steel. Pedal on and god be with you!
- Jan, October 3, 2004

Have a great ride. I hope you have a blast! Good luck! Can’t wait to see you in D.C.!

I’m a Chinese boy and I think people all around the world should get together to take care of the cancer patients. We are all friends no matter what country are we from.

I hope everyone is healthy and happy.
- Anonymous, October 3, 2004

I’m from China and I wish all people on the team happiness.
- Wang, China, October 3, 2004

Please keep riding, because cancer is a terrible disease and it must be stopped. I lost my mother on August 29th of this year to liver cancer and with your help raising more and more awareness and raising money to help pay for research, maybe one day the cure will be found and no one will ever have to lose anyone again. I miss my mother very much she was my best friend, she always said that their were angels among us. I too believe angels are among us because she was an angel and the Tour of Hope Team are all angels. Thank You!
- Hope, October 3, 2004

All of you that are riding and participating for this ride for hope are true heroes. Keep going! You are doing an awesome job!
- Anonymous, Las Vegas rally, October 3, 2004

God bless you and your efforts to improve the out look of those afflicted with this dreadful disease! Ride on! Ride hard!
- John, Atlantic City, NJ, October 3, 2004

Hi Guys,
Thanks for all that you are doing. Three years ago I was treated for Prostate Cancer. I had a recurrence and have been treating it again. I have skated four times this week and ridden three times for a total of 240 miles. Yes there is hope through research.
- Mike, October 3, 2004

Please bring the hope to everyone!
- Anonymous, October 3, 2004

Dear Riders,
May God bless you and keep you safe on your journey across the country. Four months ago our dad died from cancer and we don’t want any other kid to lose their dad like we did. Our dad died from a glioblastoma brain tumor. He was very strong and courageous, just like each of you. Thank you for what you’re doing to raise money for cancer research. We hope you raise a lot of money. God bless you.
- Zach (15) and Hannah (8) Watertown WI, October 3, 2004

- Anonymous, October 2, 2004

Riders,
I don’t know what team was on the road when, but seeing you all in the town of Twenty-nine Palms, California was awesome (we were the ones in the silver van). Not too much exciting stuff, especially something that means as much as what you are doing, comes through here and it was inspirational to the local riders. Good luck in your journey and I’ll be entering to join the team for next year!! Keep Pedaling.
- Brian, October 2, 2004

Great job on a worthy cause!
- Brian, October 2, 2004

Great Job Lance and all! Right behind ya all the way!
- Tom, October 2, 2004

Though I don’t have the opportunity to cheer y’all on roadside, or offer a weary pair of legs some help for an hour or so, know that you’ll be on my mind as I spin the gears about the Great Salt Lake over the course of the next week. May the wind, like my thoughts, be strongly behind you throughout your Tour.
- Glen, October 2, 2004

I think that what you all are doing is really incredible; I wish I could be there to cheer you on and help you keep going. I wear yellow with pride and I hope that ya’ll know you have supporters all over the country like me. Even though we can’t be there, we want you to know that you are really making a difference and we admire you! Don’t ever give up the fight!! LiveStrong!

- Anonymous, October 2, 2004

God Bless you All. I lost my daughter-in-law to brain cancer 7 1/2 years ago. She was only 33. Please ride safely and live strong.
- Anonymous, October 2, 2004

I’m a Chinese girl and discovered this activity from the Sports News in China. In the past, I always believed that cancer had nearly no relation with my life. But since my dear aunt lost her life because of the lung cancer, I feel very very sad and can’t understand why such a healthy person died in just two months. Supporting this activity, I hope that the scientists can overcome the disease in the near future because this kind of disease is so deadly and ruthless.
- Genniao, China, October 2, 2004

I just want to tell you everything will be all right. Never give up! Sunshine will always be with you!
- Anonymous, China, October 2, 2004

I hope everybody in the world can have a dream. I believe that the people who are full of hope can live happily.
- Anonymous, China, October 2, 2004

May your Tour of Hope ride of 2004 take the word cancer out of the dictionary! God’s speed and SAFE RIDE.
- Anonymous, October 2, 2004

Hi Guys and Gals,
Congrats on finishing your first day. I was at the City of Hope event Thursday evening. My father was diagnosed with Stage 4 Melanoma in June, so this has been a difficult 4 months for them. It was inspiring to see all of you on stage last night, so much so that I took the day off work today for an impromptu solo ’Tour of Hope’ ride of 100 miles. I wish you all the best. Thanks for your effort. I look forward to reading the daily updates of your journey.
- Brian, October 2, 2004

I think what you guys are doing is great. My grandpa died of lung cancer before I was born, and my great aunt has breast cancer. Thank you for doing what you’re doing.
- Perry, Age 11, October 1, 2004

Four years ago my father died of cancer. We live with his loss everyday. Thank you for trying to save others the pain my family has gone through.
- Anonymous, October 1, 2004

I LOVE YOU GUYS!! Thank you so much from the bottom of my heart for everything that you’re doing. There aren’t words enough to express my gratitude. Keep up the awesome work you’re doing. All of my love and support. Ride strong and live strong.
- Lindsey, October 1, 2004

Thank you for riding for me, a breast cancer survivor, and many of my friends. Raising cancer awareness is the first vital step toward the cure for all cancers. Have fun and stay pumped! Love and blessings.
- J, October 1, 2004

The crazy thing about being told I had cancer was that it made me stronger. I don’t just wake up every morning, I wake up knowing that I am a survivor. We need to educate everyone about cancer, how to do self exams, who can help us when we need a shoulder to lean on. Yellow is my favorite color now. It’s all about cancer survivors helpinSeptg one another.
- Steve Martinez III, October 1, 2004

Hope you have plenty of tailwinds and smooth roads. Way to go Erika and the rest of the team!
- Anonymous, October 1, 2004

My daughter has been battling cancer on and off for nearly 5 years. She is alive today because of the efforts of people like each of you who raise money for cancer research. We are very grateful that each of you, along with researchers, doctors, nurses, donors and patients, choose to never quit!
- Michelle, October 1, 2004

As I write this message my soon to be 84-year-old grandmother is fighting a great battle. She was diagnosed with skin cancer over three years ago. Nevertheless, my grandmother was determined to get back on the golf course and out for her daily walks. My grandmother is the bravest woman I know and if she could, she would be out there riding with you! Thank you for spreading the word about cancer research and for being living proof that anything is possible! Live Strong!
- Molly, October 1, 2004

Go with God’s blessings and be safe on your journey.
- Anonymous, October 1, 2004

My daughter is riding in spirit in a chase car. They are carrying a stuffed monkey that was one of her favorites and has what she called chemo hair. Casie was a fun-loving 19-year-old that fought a great battle against AML leukemia. All of us families who have to deal with this are cheering you on in the Tampa Bay area of Florida. We pray for stamina, good weather and happiness for all!
- Anonymous, October 1, 2004

You go, team! And God be with you all!
- Rebeca, September 30, 2004

In my 35 of years of life, three of the most significant people in my life — mother, aunt, and grandmother — have had cancer. My aunt has recently been diagnosed stage 4, and she and I are "being brave and fighting like hell"...my mother and grandmother fought the good fight for a while, but succumbed. I am riding on October 9th, and will continue to support cancer research throughout my life. All the best!!!
- Anonymous, September 30, 2004

We are so proud of you. Have a safe ride into DC.

The color golden yellow signifies a "golden opportunity" and is available to each of us. Live every day as though it may be your last! As a wise philosopher once said, "you do not measure success in how much you have, but by what you have done and gone through to get there!" Good Luck and God Bless!

I am a 35-year old woman, a huge fan of Lance Armstrong, and married to an avid cyclist. One week ago I had a large cancerous tumor removed from my colon. I am currently recovering at home in Alexandria, VA, and am hoping to be able to see you all at the finale in D.C. on the 9th. Please know that each of you will remain an inspiration to me as I undergo 6 months of chemo treatments, and truly appreciate all you are doing to help people with cancer beat the odds.
- Christy, September 28, 2004

You all have heard this before, but.... you are a tremendous inspiration to so many. Not only those battling cancer, but also to ill people everywhere. Go Team, Go!
- Ted, September 28, 2004

To Lance & Everyone, God Bless you all! I am praying for a cure also: my son had testicular cancer and I pray it never returns. My heart and prayers are with you all. Sincerely,
- Mickie, September 28, 2004

I think this is an amazing thing that you all are doing. My father was recently re-diagnosed with prostate cancer. He was originally diagnosed 8 years ago and has been cancer free until this past July. We all wear yellow and are so proud of you all!
- Anonymous, September 28, 2004

Best wishes, and God Bless You. We admire your courage.

Seven years ago, we lost my Sister-in-Law’s dear sister to cancer at the age of 42. She had suffered for nearly 10 years and finally succumbed after a long battle. But all through those years, she never gave up hope and we all learned a valuable lesson from her: Live life to the fullest each day even in the face of death. We can’t save Clare but we can still try to save all those people who have cancer or who will be told they do sometime in the future.
- Sara, September 27, 2004

May your journey bring us all closer to finding the answers and cure! God Bless all the riders and researchers!
- Anonymous, September 26, 2004

To all of you riding in the Tour of Hope, I wish you all the very best. I am a survivor for over one year now. Although I am Canadian, borders disappear when it comes to diseases such as cancer--we are all united on that front. I applaud you all for what you are doing. I also understand the need for clinical research, and am participating in one, at present. Best of luck to everybody! Sincerely,
- Nadia, September 25, 2004

You’re a team of inspiration for everyone. We love you for what you are doing!
- Anonymous, September 25, 2004

Your spirit of comradeship, your unwavering commitment and your unrelenting determination and hard work personify our struggle to conquer cancer. Ride and Shine Tour of Hope! Your inspiration resounds!
- TMCA, September 25, 2004

Wishing all of you the best and a healthy and successful ride. I am a cancer survivor for ten years. I lost my 54 year old husband last year to pancreatic cancer. The suffering was terrible. I now put more effort in helping others and working on Cancer Survivor day functions. This is a great way to cope with grief. God Bless all of you for your courage and strength. You will be in my prayers. There is always HOPE.
- Gloria, September 24, 2004

Thank you all for taking part in such a wonderful event that gives hope to all of us. I am a cancer survivor also. Wishing you all a safe ride! "LiveStrong".
- Anonymous, September 24, 2004

Good luck on your ride and we’ll be praying for you!
- The middle school students at St. Peter Celestine Catholic School, New Jersey, September 24, 2004

Stay strong and have a great ride! I am a 3-generation breast cancer survivor. My grandmother survived it, I was diagnosed at 28 years of age and am a survivor of almost 13 years; and my mother was diagnosed 5 years ago and is a survivor. We are survivors because of people like you, who bravely participated in a clinical trial. Thanks for dedicating yourselves and your riding talent to this important cause of raising awareness.
- Kathy, September 24, 2004

May your ride be full of blessings and good weather. Thank you; you don’t know how many people smile at the thought of you doing this.
- Anonymous, September 24, 2004

Bless you on your journey and thank you, on behalf of my mother and my family.
- Anonymous, September 24, 2004

I think what you are doing is great and hopefully a cure for cancer will be found. Keep fighting the good fight to the finish.
- Anonymous, September 24, 2004

On October 8, 1989, exactly 15 years ago, I was one of the first breast cancer patients to have a stem cell transplant for Stage IV breast cancer. I am ALIVE thanks to my clinical trial. May God bless you as you ride on this incredible Tour of Hope! Ride On to Bring Hope to Others!
- Monica, September 24, 2004

Two years ago I was diagnosed with cardiac angiosarcoma and given less than two months to live. Due to the tireless efforts of researchers, doctors, nurses, and those who have prayed for me, I am here today. Like Lance, chemo is still part of my treatment and its effects do not prevent an active schedule. I work full time and run in 5K races almost always finishing in the top 10% of my age group. Yes, people with cancer can continue to be active! We may have our down days, but watch out when we’re having the good ones! My Family says, "Thank You".
- Anonymous, September 24, 2004

Thank you for participating in this wonderful event that raises awareness and funds for cancer research. As an avid biker myself, I am very impressed with the distance that you are covering on your bikes! I think that it is a great way to combine your love of biking with a good cause to support. I hope you have a smile on your face every single mile of the way because you are doing something so great!

- Susan, September 20, 2004

I am amazed at what all of you are doing and support your efforts fully. I lost my Dad to pancreatic cancer 3 years ago. The loss was devastating, but it helps to know there are people like all of you riding for a great cause. You are in my thoughts!
- Danette, September 20, 2004

Although I was not chosen for the ride, I am a 2 time cancer survivor and I fully support your efforts and am proud of the team. LiveStrong.

God bless you and all those whose lives have been changed through their battles with cancer. The world needs more of what you represent.
- Anonymous, September 18, 2004

Our prayers will be with you as we send our message of hope from England.
- Anonymous, September 18, 2004

I know the importance of clinical trials as I believe being part of one is why I am in remission from ovarian cancer today. I support all efforts to promote more trials and find a cure. Good luck to the whole team on the ride. May God truly bless all of you and all of the researchers who are working so hard to find a cure.
- Anonymous, September 17, 2004

I’m a two year survivor of a high grade tumor in the brainstem. My hope is that your efforts will create awareness and give other survivors strength.
- Anonymous, September 16, 2004

I have an uncle who just recently had his lymphoma reoccur. This time his treatment will be much more aggressive and his cure rate is much lower. I pray each day for hope and when I go and hear about your stories and the fight and faith of others, I know he will make it! Thank you for your dedication and commitment to help fight cancer.

I am really excited to receive this news today and hope and pray for a cure for all cancer.

I just wanted to say how happy I am that people like you all exist in this world. I was diagnosed with breast cancer in January 2004 at the age of 30. Thank you so much for all of your support for cancer research.
- Tamara, September 1, 2004

I know what it is like to suffer from cancer. I am “cured” but the shadow of fear is always there for me. Your courage, this site and all the books by Lance Armstrong are helping me more than you will ever know.
- Anna, August 31, 2004

Ride safe. Thanks for doing what you do. Be positive and don’t look back. Bike On.

I just viewed the Tour of Hope video. Amazing! There are so many people in the Cycling community that ride with you in spirit everyday. We look forward to seeing your journey across country unfold. Those of us that have the passion of cycling and the crusade against cancer can only imagine what all of you are experiencing. Your dedication and efforts in the Tour of Hope are the seeds and roots to which clinical research and human testing will grow from. You are all doing great things!
- Gene, August 27, 2004

My step-daughter, who just turned 17, has been challenged with Hodgkin’s for the last two and a half years. Just when we think she is clean and clear, there it is again! Your active and optimistic approach is inspiring and reassuring. Thank you for your courage and for making your success so public. You’re one spunky dynamo!

I am a breast cancer survivor. Next year, with God’s blessing, I will be cancer free five years. My deepest thanks and gratitude to the Tour of Hope riders and their families. I know all of you are giving more than just your time. It will take a lot of hard work, sweat and tears to complete your journey. May you ride safely across the US with the wind always at your back. God Bless all of you for your sacrifices for this great cause.

Thanks for being a constant reminder of what it means to live life to the fullest. Your courage and spirit are motivating to all. You justify to my dad a reason to fight and you give us all hope.

To all that have been touched in one way or another, HOPE is our future and we must never give up. I have lost 3 uncles and numerous friends to cancer and every one of them was brave beyond belief. Thank you to all of those who help us get there.

Thank you for your support and I will pray for your safe ride. I was diagnosed with Stage IIIC ovarian cancer in April 2003. After surgery and chemo, so far so good. With God’s help and research and great doctors, I intend to live a very long time. Bless you for helping me and others suffering from this ugly disease.
- Anonymous, August 15, 2004

I have had to experience cancer with both of my parents. My mother passed away at the age of 51 from metastatic breast cancer, just after reaching the 5 year mark of being cancer free. My father was diagnosed with prostate cancer 2 years ago and is now cancer free thanks to Dr Michael Haake at CMC in Charlotte, North Carolina. I want to send my thoughts and prayers to all those participating in the Tour of Hope. Way to go Lance!!
- Anonymous, August 12, 2004

I think it is truly fantastic you all are riding to promote cancer awareness/research. I lost both of my parents to cancer: Ovarian (mom) and pancreatic (dad). I wish you well and lots of fun on your ride. Take care!
- Carole, August 12, 2004

As a cancer survivor myself (4 1/2 years), I want to congratulate all of you for such wonderful effort towards our battle with cancer. You make a difference!
- Jorge, August 11, 2004

Thank you from a devastated son who had to bury his 55 year old mother. I used Lance as her inspiration these last 8 months. Thank you from the families of the lost victims of this terrible disease.
- Anonymous, August 11, 2004

I will be there in spirit with you! After completing chemo and radiation for breast cancer my goal was to participate in a Half Triathlon two years ago to raise money for research and awareness about breast cancer. I DID IT and so can you! Ride with the wind and thank you for what you are doing.
- Jody, August 10, 2004

Although cancer is a dreadful disease, my experience with my late father’s lymphoma and my breast cancer has been a life-changing, powerful, exciting path in my life. We are united and can’t do this alone. My gratitude to all who fundraise, ride, and inspire. I will see you in my hometown of Durango, CO!
- Katie, August 9, 2004

I’m a cancer survivor of 3 years. I was diagnosed with Non-Hodgkin’s lymphoma. My health is great thanks to God and all researchers of medicine for cancer treatment. Keep up the good work.

- Anonymous, August 3, 2004

I am a two time breast cancer survivor. I just turned 40 and look forward to re-starting my running and biking on a more serious level. My doctors told me to expect my cancer to return. I told them to expect otherwise. We are not statistics. We all have the opportunity to change the course of our disease, if only by living each day with passion and a plan to wake up tomorrow and do it again. I live strong. So can you!
- Anonymous, August 2, 2004

To all who are affected by this illness or other terminal illness, may you find strength in your higher power and know that others like you will lift you up in your times of need. I have been terminally ill since Dec 1988, and could not have made it this far without the love of friends, family, neighbors, and even strangers. Best wishes to all.
- Anonymous, July 16, 2004

Y’all are cycling angels!! I am praying for each and every one of you to have a safe ride, and hoping for a very successful mission. I too, have been touched by cancer &mdash ride on for a cure! I am fellow cyclist and cancer-cure advocate.

As far as there is life there is hope. Just think positively.
- Anonymous, July 12, 2004

My hope is that cancer will one day no longer be the big, scary monster that has affected my life. My mother died from pancreatic cancer when I was 12 and now, my brother, who is only 38, has pancreatic cancer too. Please work hard to find a cure and continue doing the most important research on earth...the cure for cancer. Thank you!
- Anonymous, July 12, 2004

This is awesome! My thoughts and prayers are with you! I just lost my mother-in-law to cancer. What a horrible disease.
- Anonymous, July 10, 2004

About a week before my 49th birthday, I got diagnosed with breast cancer. Day after my birthday, I had surgery, and then about a week later learned it had spread to several nodes. I am awaiting more tests and start of chemo and radiation.....but that is just a glitch because if Lance and others can get through it I can too. God is good and I have no doubt this will lead to something wonderful for me. I will learn more about myself, my capabilities, and appreciate and love others more and learn to see the blessings that were all around me, that I have taken for granted before. God is just and God is good, and I praise Him for what ever great adventure this cancer path leads me. I know God will not let me down. I have nothing to fear! Your friend,
- Ranelle, July 07, 2004

In loving memories of Thomas Truong 23. He fought until the end, with hope and the passion of living his life, he never give up the fight. I love you Thomas, forever and ever!! I know your heart is beating with mine.
- Jade, July 07, 2004

I am a lung cancer survivor. I thank you all for the work you do for all of us. You have given us hope and strength for our fight.
- Cindy, July 06, 2004

Keep up the good work
- Karen, July 04, 2004

Thank you all for your hard work and dedication. My Dad passed away on May 15 from pancreatic cancer. I was not too concerned about the disease until he was diagnosed, and then 4 months later one of my closest friends was diagnosed with breast cancer. More people need to be made aware of this horrible disease. Your cause is wonderful.
- Anonymous, July 03, 2004

Godspeed cyclists!! My Mom is a Breast Cancer survivor so I will be rooting for you all the way. I am going to keep up on the route and come out to cheer you on when you pass through south central PA. May your trusty steeds have wings!!
- David, July 03, 2004

My son Jack was diagnosed with a rare pelvis tumor 3 years ago June 28. Through 9 surgeries, chemo, radiation and a lot of prayer he is here today and recovering well. Thank you to all who sponsor cancer research and to all the doctors and nurses who are on the front lines of this battle. Keep fighting and perhaps someday we will have a cure. "Livestrong"

I too am a cancer survivor. 12 years ago I was diagnosed with testicular cancer. I went through 12 week of chemo and am 12 years free of cancer now. My health is great and I’m cycling over 100 miles per week. Not quite the tour, but good nonetheless.
